Department of Interior - Project Management Services

As a sub consultant since 2009, NS Services is providing Program/Project Management services to the Department of Interior - Office of Facilities Management and Construction (OFMC), Albuquerque, New Mexico - The Office of Facilities Management and Construction (OFMC), had identified an immediate need for project management services and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) coordinator services associated with the implementation of facilities projects funded under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA). Projects included maintenance backlog items, facility improvement and repair projects, replacement school projects, and detention facilities projects that were to be obligated by September 2009 to create maximum potential job opportunities and stimulate the national economy as envisioned in the Act.

Due to the increased workload created by ARRA funding, OFMC needed additional project mangers to supplement its existing federal staff so that the projects can be implemented in timely manner. In addition, under its ongoing Replacement School and Facilities Improvement and Repair (FI&R) Program, Indian Affairs (IA) has also identified projects requiring actions necessary to proceed with planning, design, and construction which required project management coordination among the BIA, Bureau of Indian Education (BIE), Tribes, Interagency Agreements, and A-E or Construction Contractors.

NS Services was retained to support the workload environment due to our expertise in Primavera software and understanding of the client's infrastructure - our services include:

• Primavera P6 and process review
• Proactive Primavera administration and performance tuning
• Primavera scheduling process analysis and engineering

Project Scheduling & Project Control

NS Services staff is providing Project Scheduling & Project Control services for the construction of a fossil fuel power plant in Meridian, Mississippi. The Southern Company is building a 582-megawatt power plant which is currently under construction in Kemper County. NS Services staff is providing project control services in all aspects of Project Management, Project Controls and System Administration of Primavera Systems. This has involved projects and corporate programs in the fossil power generation, Power Transmission & Distribution, infrastructure, and commercial high rise business in Planning/Scheduling and Cost Controls as well as Earned Value reporting.
